Cowrie Shells have many different meanings. Because of their shape, hey can be viewed as symbols of womanhood, fertility, birth, therefore, these are also known as elixir or giver of life which is why wearing a Cowrie Shell jewelry is always a good idea Beyond its feminine ties, the cowrie shell also represents prosperity. This shell was used as a form of currency in parts of Africa and has since been regarded as a symbol of prosperity. According to some African legends, Cowrie Shells represent the goddess of protection who was highly powerful and is connected with the strength and power of the Ocean. Available on 3 different chain lengths 16", 18" and 22", this Cowrie shell has been cast from an actual Cowrie shell in recycled silver and then plated with 2microns of 18ct yellow gold. Each item is handmade and packaged in a small grey velvet pouch that can be used to polish your jewellery when needed and posted completely plastic free.
