Buying a new ring is always exciting, however it can be tricky if you don't know your ring size. The most accurate way to find your ring size is to pop by and see Sarah at her workshop in Burnham-on-Crouch or at one of her markets. If you are unable to get to her direct another jewellery's local to you should be able to assist you.

If neither of those options work for you below are some tips for working out your own size or another persons size.

Picking a ring for a someone else can be hard at the best of times, and then you have to work out their size too! I have put together a few helpful tips to find out your loved one in a top secret fashion be it for a romantic proposal, or just a special gift, this will be your go-to guide.

Take one of their existing rings and slide it on your ring finger. Using a pen mark on your finger where it comes up to. Pay a visit to us in Burnham-on-Crouch and show us where the mark is, we will work out the rest.

Take some play dough and one of their rings. Push the ring into the play dough so you are able to see the outline of the ring. Bring the play dough with the ring outline to us at Smoke and Ash and we will work out the rest.

*Remember to clean their ring afterwards*

Avoid measuring your fingers are cold as they tend to be a lot smaller and won't be an accurate depiction of your size.

Try and measure your fingers in the evening as this is when they tend to be the largest and will assure you a comfortable fit.

Repetition is key.
If possible take your measurement at least 3 times to ensure your size is correct.

Rings that have a thicker band will be tighter so you may need to go up a size.
