Pressing Pause, finding rhythm, and creating space for creativity
Hello lovely people,
October turned out to be a little quieter than I’d first planned, and I’m so glad it was. I made the decision to step back from a few markets this month to help me get back on top of things and find a better rhythm in our weeks. At first, it felt risky to cancel markets, especially since they’re a big source of income while I rebuild my online presence. But I’ve come to realise that sometimes rest is just as productive as constant work.
The breathing space gave me time to catch up on restocking, sort through inventory, and finally send out a couple of wholesale orders that had been hanging over me. I’ve also managed to get back on track with website orders, so as we move into the Christmas (yes, were there already!) season, I’m feeling organised and well-stocked for the upcoming markets in November and December. Having a little more mental space has also meant I can focus on creating new content for social media and maybe even post another Substack or blog article that’s been sitting on my mind since summer. I’ve been thinking a lot about burnout lately having felt a little frazzled since summer, and how rest can be one of the most productive things we do so that might be next on my list to write about.

If you missed it, I quietly launched my Charm Hoops Subscription last month (in true Sarah fashion, I haven’t exactly shouted about it yet!). The idea is simple: choose your hoops and first set of charms, and each month a new charm set arrives for you to swap in and out. Over the year, you’ll build a beautiful little collection including two unique and personalised charms designed especially for you based on the details you share. Subscriptions start from £20 a month and make such a lovely, low-effort treat for yourself or a thoughtful gift that keeps giving all year round.

I’m also still exploring the idea of wax workshops, which I know many of you have asked about! I’d originally hoped to run a few festive sessions before Christmas, but time has (unsurprisingly) flown by. The plan now is to launch them in the new year instead think cosy evenings by the fire, creating your own wax ring or pendant with me on hand to guide you, and plenty of lovely chatter. If that sounds like your cup of tea, do let me know I’d love to hear your thoughts.
With the extra time away from markets, I also managed to finish a couple of new pieces, including the new Wave Ring I mentioned last month. I’m really pleased with how it turned out the shape is based on the popular Wishbone Ring, so it stacks perfectly with small stone rings but looks just as beautiful worn alone. You’ll be able to find it (and a few other new designs) at all my Christmas markets. And if I get my butt in gear it will also be available online...
