Welcome to my latest collection, "Time and Tides," inspired by the dynamic British coastlines. This collection captures the ocean's beauty, the untamed nature, the rawness, and the unique charm of living by the coast.
If you have a love for the ocean and unique jewellery, you understand the allure of pieces that reflect the sea's beauty. In this post, I will introduce you to the 7 new ocean-inspired silver rings that not only captivate the eye but also embody the charm of the ocean. Each ring symbolises a fragment of the ocean's history and artistry,
Because each piece is carved by hand, no two will ever be identical, much like the ever-changing tides and the evolving landscapes shaped by the waves.
I often build a collection first around a group of rings, I'm not entirely sure why this is always my starting point. It may have something to do with thats how I learnt the art of silversmithing by first making tiny silver stacking rings so it only feels natural: It's like my brain says, "Rings first, everything else later!" So, here I am, naturally gravitating towards those shiny circles.
1. Ancient Ring

The Ancient Ring is inspired by Roman and Greek aesthetics. Created by hand in wax using a soldering iron to create the heavy textures and cast in recycled silver, this piece features a heavily textured ring band that captures the timeless charm of ancient Roman and Greek styles. Each ring is uniquely crafted, ensuring no two will be textured the same. This ring actually came about after having designed some Roman inspired huggie hoops, I love the texture I had created so set about trying to recreate it on a ring. Its a beautiful band thats ideal for stacking, wearing solo or even wearing as an alternative wedding band.
2. Tidal Ring

The Tidal Ring embodies the essence of crashing waves and rugged coastlines cherished by many. This chunky ring might be one of my favourites from the collection because I adore how each piece encapsulates the distinctive nature of crashing waves and ebbing tides typically found on a beach. The textures reveal incoming waves and retreating tides, which always catch my eye when I'm strolling along the sands. I've designed this ring to be a statement piece and I currently wear mine on my right ring finger, the different textures beautifully bounce the light off to make a really eye catching piece.
3. Fossilised Ring

The Fossilised Ring showcases elegant ammonite fossil designs. These intricate details reveal the beauty of ancient ocean ecosystems, bringing a natural elegance to each piece. To me, even though its made through using the imprints of a fossil it emulates the natural wonder of the worlds coral reefs thats are sadly on the decline due to rising sea temperatures and pollution. Whilst being an elaborate dress piece, this ring also holds ecological significance—being made from 100% recycled silver, it reminds us of the rich history of ocean life that once thrived, with about 56% of marine wildlife being lost in the last 50 years*.

4. Whitewater Ring

The Whitewater Ring radiates dynamic energy, mirroring the white water you would see on crashing waves. I created this by painstakingly adding individual "dots" of wax back onto a fine ring band to create the texture you can see here. I loved creating this texture so much I made some white water huggie hoops that I'm wearing all the time at the moment. The ring stands out as an elaborate dress piece in itself but theres no reason why you cant incorporate it into your everyday collection.
5. Ripple Ring

Inspired by the gentle ocean ripples, the Ripple Ring stands out for its light-reflecting shapes. This delicate piece can serve as a unique wedding band for men or women or a everyday piece to add to your collection. This was the first ring I developed in this collection using a technique I had been practising during maternity leave using a soldering iron to melt and move wax about allowing me to create the organic flowing textures you'll see on this ring. It reminds me a lot of the ripples on sand you'll see under water that have been created by the moving of waves and currents overhead.
6. Ammonite Cluster Ring

The Ammonite Cluster Ring features fossilised textures inspired by ancient marine worlds. Its signet style appeals to collectors who appreciate the history behind their jewellery but with clean and defined lines. Similar to the ammonite cluster ring, however I wanted to create something more simple and clean true to my original style of minimalist jewellery.
7. Sunshine Signet Ring

That brings us finally to the Sunshine Signet Ring that radiates vintage charm with its sunny design. I wanted something maybe not so abstract and as a solar powered girly myself I love this timeless piece is versatile enough for any occasion. It captures the warmth of sunny days by the beach with a vintage style sun a top of a classic style signet, making it a delightful addition to your collection of lost relics. I will be introducing you to some matching earrings for this soon.
Whether you are an ocean admirer, an eco-conscious buyer or just a sucker for beautifully handmade jewellery these rings symbolise sustainable craftsmanship and the beauty of the sea. Choosing handmade rings means investing in unique creations that share stories of lost relics and timeless beauty, breaking away from the mass produced and not unique of the high street chains.
These rings are now available to pre-order ahead of the collections release date of the 16th of June, and I will be introducing you to the other new items in the collection in the coming weeks... ( I still have a lot of ideas that I need to materialise)
